The story of Serafin: from flex worker to remote recruiter In an interview with Serafin, he shared more about how he found his way within N2 People. Serafin has been with the company since 2015 and has made significant progress. Starting as a flex worker, he proved himself and grew into an exceptional recruiter. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Serafin.

Introduction

My name is Serafin, I’m almost 37 years old. I’m from Murcia, in Spain. A bit more about me, I’m a very active and sporty person. Every week I do something like mountain biking, climbing, or hiking. I’m also family-oriented; I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. Most of them live in Murcia, so working here is perfect for me. I also like to live healthily, go outside, get a lot of exercise, and eat well.

My journey

I decided to go to the Netherlands after the company I worked for in Spain went bankrupt. I started looking online for jobs and saw a vacancy that said N2 People was looking for car painters and panel beaters in the Netherlands. To me, this seemed like the perfect opportunity, so I applied immediately and got the job. Coming to the Netherlands was a whole new experience for me. I didn’t really speak any English or Dutch yet; just colors and numbers were part of my vocabulary, besides that I still had a lot to learn. After a couple of weeks in the Netherlands, I bought my own car and became much more flexible in my choices. Having accommodation from N2 People also helped a lot, as I didn’t have to search for a house and could save costs.

History with N2 People

I’ve been working for N2 People for quite some time now. I started in 2015 at the client van Mossel as a panel beater. After this, I became a Coordinator (Jobcoach) for the Automotive Sector. After two years, Eric, the CEO of N2 People, proposed that I open an office in Spain and become a recruiter. Hearing this was like music to my ears; I love the job, I enjoy working for N2 People, and I get to be close to my family and friends in Murcia. Eric saw the potential in me as a recruiter and provided me with the opportunity, for which I’m very grateful. I started with just a laptop and a phone, working from home. Once I managed to get more than 20 employees in N2 People, we decided to open an office in Murcia. Working from home every day can become a bit of a strain, so having an office here was the perfect solution for me.

Growth

Right now, we’re here in the Spanish recruitment office with the three of us, Gosia, Lahìsa, and myself. Also, when we acquire new recruiters, no matter which country they will start working in, they will come to Murcia first for a 4-week training.

My experience

Working with different cultures is something that really appeals to me; besides that, I really enjoy helping others. This job allows me to combine both. All in all, I have a very good experience with N2 People.
